Unfinished or Work In Progress

I feel as though I have a lot of unfinished business in my life. But, I also wonder how much of it is just a work in progress? There are things like artwork and writings that are sitting there waiting to be finished or abandoned. All of it was important in the moment it was started. Did it suddenly become unimportant or less important? No, I don’t think so. It feels more like some sort of indication that my spirit has a lot to say or express. And there isn’t always enough time and space for all of it.

I once had an idea of developing an art style called “Work in Progress” where I’d do the art in such a way that some areas would be complete, some would be sort of half done, and others would still be at the sketch stage. The idea was to show the various stages of my artwork as a way to express how each moment is important to the full piece. It’s based on my phrase I’m a work in progress, making progress.

On more than one occasion, I’ve read that certain ways we keep our living space are an indication of something inside of us. I’m assuming a mental condition or something. Things like how are bedroom, workspace, and kitchen are kept might be an indication of something going on within ourselves. For example, a cluttered desk might mean a cluttered mind. That sort of thing. I don’t fully understand how any of that works and it is certainly possible there is a correlation. For me, I just wonder if it’s that my life is so full that I’m spilling over in a lot of ways…hehehe

As I think about all of the things left unfinished or are actively still in progress, I sometimes get a bit overwhelmed. But I also feel encouraged because it also seems like my life is full. So full, in fact, that I think I needed days like yesterday. I spent the day at Walt Disney World with a coworker friend and one of his friends. Christian (my friend) invited me to join him and his other friend for a day at the parks. Although I have a lot going on that I’m working on personally, I decided it was best that I pause my projects for a day and spend the day with them. I’m so glad that I did!

I really like the pace I’m going these days. I’m never in a rush to do any of my projects anymore. I set little goals to try to achieve. But if a date slips on by, I’m okay with it. Everything I’m working on that is suppose to be completed with get finished when they are supposed to get done. All of it has some sort of meaning. Even if only for that moment, or for some future moment yet to be realized.

Most of my priorities are typically taken care of when they are supposed to. This rhetorical post is about my creative side. I often think about the artwork and writing I’ve got rolling around in my mind. It sure is taking me a while to get to most of it…LOL I started the year off strong with my “Bible in a Year” art projects. About 12-13 pieces in, I stopped. I also have some books in the works and short stories in draft or idea stages. There’s a lot of unfinished work in my mental queue…hehehe

I get to thinking about this side of me when I’ve visited Disney. The 6 parks and the 2 malls get me thinking about my creativity. Even our weekly movie day has been sparking some things. I hope to get some momentum going again soon. I really enjoy making art and writing stories ❤️

A few things bummed me out yesterday. The first was that they didn’t have the dinosaurs in the vending machines at the Japan pavilion 😭 The other was the guys I was hanging out with didn’t want to do any of the “kiddie” attractions…LOL There were a lot of attractions with low wait times that they didn’t want to do…hehehe I don’t blame them. I definitely get it 🤭
