Before I moved to Florida, I had never seen an alligator in the wild. And I’ve traveled to Florida my entire life. Within a few months of living in Florida, I saw my first alligator in the wild at a nearby nature preserve. Now I see them all the time, even where I lived. This was taken at the lake I would always walk around. I had seen one almost every month. Down there, I’ve heard them called swamp puppies. They never bothered me and they really aren’t scary from a distance…from a distance…I never approach one!
