Goldilocks Kind of Week
I’m having a good week. Not a great week. Not a bad week. A good one. It’s the kind of week that feels just right. A Goldilocks kind of week. Over all, my sleep has been good. My schedule is pretty well balanced. I’ve caught up on some TV. I’m back to doing our Bible study. I’m having a normal work schedule. Most of my meals have been the usual stuff I’ve been enjoying lately. I really like this week.
Ooh! Work dropped a huge change on my yesterday…LOL Out of the blue, around 2pm, I get an email about how my virtual desktop is being migrated from one system to another. It was worded in such a way to stress that the change was happening…yesterday! No warning…just that it was happening…now…LOL In the past, I probably would have complained about such short notice. However, I’ve gotten used to that at this point. I first noticed this sort of thing a few years ago when I first switched over to this company.
I tried to switch over as soon as possible. But there was an issue at first. So I switched back to attend a meeting I needed to be at. I reached out to the people making the change to let them know of my issue. They got it fixed pretty quickly and I was back in business on the new virtual desktop. Then, this morning, the new desktop wasn’t launching…LOL I was able to access our chat program and email from the laptop itself. So I was able to communicate about this issue. After 2 hours, it got fixed.
While all of that was going on, I asked if our policy allowed for us to log into this new remote system from our personal laptops. The previous system wasn’t setup to allow that. But this one is. So I had to ask…hehehe Turns out our policy allows it. I tested that out today and it works well. I can now access my work systems from my personal laptop. No more lugging around 2 laptops when I work while traveling! Yay!!! Also, my work laptop is junk…LOL
I took it one step further after work. I logged into my virtual desktop from one of my e-ink tablets. It works there too. I imagine it will work from my art tablets as well. These options will make it easier to deal with things when I’m needed and not at home. It is very rare, but it can happen.
I haven’t been pushing myself too hard to optimize my productivity this week. I’m still quite productive at work. I’m more talking about personally. I’ve been traveling and keeping busy all Spring so far. Now that I’m back to a somewhat normal life at home this week, I decided to go easy on myself. I have projects I’d love to forge ahead on. Yet, I’m finding myself enjoying calm quiet evenings without pushing to hard to get things done. I realize that I’m about to travel and be busy again in 2 weeks. I think it best to take it easy during this season and rest a little. And I like it. Once June comes, I’ll be ready to tackle the projects I have on my heart.
I do have some projects I’d like to move forward on now, though. Especially a few art pieces I’ve got cookin’. After my walk tonight, I was sitting out by the pool area just reflecting. I was thinking about the “Peace” piece I’m working on and considered tossing out what I did at the airports last week. But then I decided that I could make a slight change in direction with what I already have and make it what it needs to be. And I have some ideas already for the “Patience” piece that’s coming next. I also have the next Bambi piece for Cherie. That one already has its vision. Execution has been stalled…LOL I started that one months ago…HAHAHA It would sure be nice to finish it in the next few weeks. Along with Malachi’s Orange Bird piece.
I’d like to get more art and photos posted on this website. Along with starting to add some writings as well. I’m very happy I have this new website up and going. It has been a tremendous help with being motivated to blog. Getting things added to the site would be a good idea in the coming weeks as I rest. I also plan to write up about our April vacation. This weekend would be a good time for that.
I wore my newest shirt today. I got it from Cherie through the Disney gift card she gave me for my birthday. She helped me pick it out…hehehe It inspired me to wear my Aussie hat. It looks like a cowboy hat. I wore the hat for our Rex dance video. Then wore it again for lunch at Zen. I also wore it on my evening walk; which further inspired an impromptu Rex on the loose video for Cherie…hehehe The shirt is perfect for me. Thank you, Cherie, for all of my birthday gifts…especially the gift of time with you this Spring ❤️ I was just with you…and will be with you again soon…hehehe
