New Blog (software), Who Dis?
I have finally launched the new site I’ve been working on for a few weeks. I’m beyond excited for this season of the website. It has evolved quite a bit over the past few years. And this is the latest version of it live!
A few things of note are that I can now create new content by simply clicking a “New” button, writing the content, and then “Publish” it. As well as bringing my writings, art, and photos together on the site using the same easy of “New” -> “Publish” to quickly add those types of content as well.
I managed to migrate all of my previous blog posts. I haven’t migrated anything else yet. But the blog is the main thing I’ve been maintaining since January of 2024. So it made the most sense to migrate first and get the new site online.
I can author the content in a web browser now. I can edit from my phone if I want. Or my MacBook. Or even most of my e-ink devices. This was something I simply could not do with the old way I setup back in the beginning.
I used Claude AI and Claude Code to bring this new site to reality. I needed to learn how it worked anyway. So this was a good project to give me a good idea of how those tools work. It was an amazing process. Especially for migrating the old content over. When I moved my site last year, I didn’t bother migrating the 2024 posts because it was overwhelming. But with Claude, I was able to migrate all 408 posts from both previous sites to this one in a matter of minutes.
There are some dead links on some of the older posts. I may fix them as I come across them. Or I may leave them be. But it’s now easy to create new posts and I’ll start adding my art and photos soon. The writings section will take a bit to get going. I’m still figuring that out. And I removed the Bible stuff for now. I might bring that back in some form later. The 4 sections I have now are where I want to start.
Well, this post is a bit boring…LOL But it’s the first of many on this new site. It was a fun project to do. I’m simply amazed at how quickly I was able to create a completely new system. Claude did the grunt work. I still needed to do the thinking and had to make choices of different behind the scenes stuff.
Stay tuned for more of my normal journaling. Welcome to my new website. Thank you for being a part of my journey. I hope that being here, you’ll feel the warm hugs I hope to bring the world through this website.
