New Setup, Who Dis?!

Now that I’m able to log into my work’s virtual desktop from my MacBook, I’ve made a positive adjustment to my workspace. I moved my work laptop off my main desk and moved my MacBook in 🤩 I bought an Apple Magic Mouse for my MacBook because I now have the MacBook up on a stand and didn’t want to use the old mouse I have for the work laptop. I’m using my Qwerkywriter keyboard with it and the large external monitor. It’s a great setup and it allows me to work from a single desk when I’m doing things that require the power of a laptop; such as work or doing some of personal projects.

Also, now that I’m back to using my MacBook for blogging, and generally working with my new website, I get the luxury of using this fancy keyboard…hehehe I hadn’t used it with my MacBook yet…LOL And the reason I bought it in the first place was to write. I originally got it to use with my Supernote Manta. I then started using it for work. But my poor MacBook looked with a side eye in disappointment that it couldn’t also use the fancy keyboard 👀 LOL j/k

Something else I did this morning was finishing setting up all of my reservations for our upcoming vacation. I now have my Disney ticket, hotel room, and vehicle all reserved. We had our last vacation 2 weeks ago. Now we are getting ready for our next one in 2 weeks from now…hehehe It is such a Blessing to be able to do this ❤️

For the upcoming trip, we will be attending a Dodgers game against the Angels. We had such a great time at our last game back in August. I’m very much looking forward to doing it again. One of the funny things about this season for me is that I haven’t yet watched a game. I think my first game this season will be the one I actually attend 😆 Lately, the games haven’t aligned with me…hehehe Why can’t they work around my schedule?!? HAHAHA j/k

This weekend, I’m celebrating my move to Florida 4 years ago 🤩 My lease renewed today. Because of Leap Year in 2024, the date moved. My original move-in day was May 4th…Star Wars Day…hehehe In my heart, that will remain the day for me each year I renew. I’m still going to celebrate in my heart all weekend, though. That is one of the things that inspired my thoughts with my Potential photo and post yesterday 🥰

I also updated my art shelf today. I do it around the 4th each month. That and my AC’s air filter. It all coincides with my move-in date…hehehe My mind just naturally thinks of such things because of that date…LOL Last month, I added two origami boats that I used as practice for the Rex’s origami challenge…hehehe So this month, I decided to add the origami pieces I received from a few of my experiences at the Japan pavilion in EPCOT. The little swan was a chopstick rest from Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya in 2023. They noticed I use the chopstick wrapper as a rest and gifted me one they made into a swan ❤️ The Mickey and peacock are from my second time going to Takumi-Tei at the end of 2024.

The Spring Dapper Days are going on at Walt Disney World this weekend. I had originally hoped to go. I really just needed a relaxing weekend, though. It looked like folks had a good time yesterday at EPCOT. Today’s is at Animal Kingdom. I haven’t seen today’s posts yet. One of my friends was at EPCOT yesterday and texted me asking if yesterday was a Dapper Day. Had I been there, I would have met up with them. I went to last year’s at EPCOT in the Spring. And the same the year before. Last year’s was when my parents were here. We all went and had a good time. After their visit last week, Mom and Dad mentioned that they preferred this year’s visit. It felt less busy and they attributed that to what it takes to have a day at Disney. They are not wrong…LOL Disney Days can be exhausting sometimes. I do okay. But Mom and Dad aren’t Spring chickens anymore, if you know what I mean…

I’m almost done setting up my Dapper Donald Duck outfit for our next visit in a few weeks. I found a fun Donald Duck sailor hat that arrived today. I’m impressed with it! I also found a funny red bow tie that looks like a dapper version of his. My blue vests don’t exactly match the hat’s blue color. It will probably be okay. But I’ll be on the lookout for a better blue vest if I can find one. My yellow shoes arrived yesterday and the yellow socks arrived today. I already had all the white shirt and pants I need to represent his feathers. Cherie and I are going to look amazing as Daisy and Donald 🤩 We’ll have to shake our duck butts 🤣 Maybe the Cast will notice us and get the real Daisy and Donald out in the parks to have a photoshoot with us 😆 j/k

I finally went back to Sprouts today. I hadn’t been to my Sprouts in ages. It had been so long that when I went in California a few weeks ago, I got an email that said “Welcome back!” HAHAHA I was like, “I didn’t know I was gone?” Then I remembered it had been awhile. I’ve been shopping at my much closer Publix lately. It has many of my trusted brands now. And they are cheaper. I went to Sprouts today because they still carry things I can’t seem to find anywhere else. I still need to check out Aldi. It sounds like they have changed since I last went a few years ago. Since then, they have bought out Winn Dixie. Perhaps they acquired a supply chain that provides some of my trusted brands now? Cherie mentioned her’s carries our brand of ghee. They certainly didn’t used to…LOL So, I really need to check them out again.

I added “Coffee Mug” to the Writings section today. I’m not sure it is quite finished yet. But I wanted to get it up on the site. Now that I have a place to put my writing, I would like to start publishing things. I still need to work out a feature that identifies things as in draft or final. I would also like to identify what is fictional and what isn’t. Once I start putting these things on the site, I will begin to notice what tweaks I need to make to the website. I’ll soon begin adding my fictional short stories from my porch writings. That one is going to be a book with chapters 🤩 The same is true for “Vitamin G.” That one may completely change soon…LOL Even though these things are still in progress, I want to give them a place to live and grow ❤️

I had a good weekend. I didn’t get around to any of my artwork. I wish I would spend more time with that. Perhaps I will this week. That said, I did accomplish quite a bit. New content on this website is a huge deal for me. I’m so glad my passion is back. It was bumming me out that I hadn’t been writing and working on new photos. I have a lot of work left to get existing paintings and photos on here. And I still have other existing writings to post. It will all get done. New paintings, photos, and written works are also on my heart. This weekend was a nice boost and proved to myself that I’ve finally found a good way to get things out here on the site 🤩
