Merciful Heavens
7:30 AM
It has been a good start to the day. I slept okay. It was a little tough waking up, but journaling and doing a Bible study session really picked me up. I used Biblesprout for a Bible study lesson for the first time. The app is still very much in a proof-of-concept state, but it worked well for reading the passage and Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary. I did Proverbs 3:5-6 this morning. It’s quite fitting that it was this passage that was the first. I left a handwritten note attached to the passage in Biblesprout. It won’t likely survive, but I took a photo of the note so I’ll always have it.
11:10 AM
Work is working me again today… LOL. But that’s a good thing. I discovered I might be able to go to Zen on Friday! I only have one meeting that day now because all of the others have been canceled! Yay!
I had some thoughts I wanted to jot down earlier, but I didn’t take the opportunity, and now they’re lost… hehehe. I don’t mind being this busy. I imagine I’ll be much busier once we get Claude Code at work, so I’ll have to be more intentional about taking breaks. Perhaps I’ll want to block off my calendar for breaks. Although, I once tried that before and people still scheduled stuff over those blocks… sigh
I’ll actually have a lunch break today! I need it… LOL
12:25 PM
Lunch break was great. I had forgotten what it was like to break for lunch… HAHAHA, j/k. Seriously, breaks are so important. Too bad not everyone realizes that. I used to not understand its importance myself.
I was reminded of those years I was on medication that basically numbed my mind. I’m so glad I am past that and it’s all behind me now.
The next meeting has begun…
1:05 PM
That was a good meeting. It was a feedback kind of meeting with some stakeholders to let us know what they like, don’t like, and don’t understand. We don’t do this often enough. It’s common to build software the way “we” think it should be and not how real users would use it. The sessions this week are helping us build something that works for the users instead of against them. I love it! I’ve rarely worked for any company that wants to build software this way. This is the right way.
2:35 PM
Early lunch means early “afternoon hungry again” time… LOL. I have some avocado oil microwave popcorn I can have. I did that yesterday actually — two days in a row? I guess so. Being off my routine this week has been strange at best… HAHAHA.
The day is going well. I’ve even been able to work on a project that keeps getting bumped from my agenda.
I’m looking forward to tacos tonight. I had tacos last night too, and I plan to have tacos Thursday and Friday. I decided I really wanted tacos so bad that four nights this week needed tacos… hehehe
4:55 PM
Today was a productive workday. I was glad to make progress on that stale project. I’m hoping to get more work done on it as the week progresses. I have my notes all set up for my workday tomorrow. Ever since I started my note technique, the transition between workdays has greatly improved. And it keeps work off my mind in the evenings and weekends. Ohh! And during vacations! LOL
Now, it’s time to make tacos and watch Lady and the Tramp!
6:30 PM
Okay, so, I haven’t watched Lady and the Tramp yet. I decided to watch a few more episodes of this season of The Bear instead. I love the show because it’s the most “human” show there is, in my opinion. The world is a messy place, but when you can navigate the mess with others who genuinely care for each other, the mess isn’t so bad. Or something like that… LOL
7:30 PM
I just got in from a walk. Two days in a row? Nice! hehehe. On my way to my front door, I met my new neighbor. I didn’t even know I had a new neighbor. He’s quiet, inside, I guess? Anyway, his name is Chris. He seemed happy to meet me.
At the end of my walk, I captured a rainbow. Some folks at the pool were hollering at each other to turn around to see the rainbow, so I turned around as well. Sure thing! hehehe. There it was! Funny thing is, I painted a quick rainbow today as I was testing Paintsprout for a feature I’m working on. Now I wish I had saved that test… LOL
The power just cycled. The storm that was causing the rainbow must be here… hehehe. Time for Lady and the Tramp! Assuming my internet is online… hehehe. I think it’s down…
9:30 PM
I love Lady and the Tramp. It’s such a good movie. I’m enjoying watching these classic Disney animated films. I enjoy these sorts of traditions, and I’m grateful to have so many special ones each week now. No matter what life throws at us, these are tried-and-true ways to remain anchored.
The tacos were great, by the way… hehehe. The day was pretty good. My walks have me thinking about a new phone more. The newer cameras are one of the reasons I’m considering this. My walks these past few days reminded me of how I featured a photo every day last year, and I’m thinking about how I want to vlog. I can do these things with my current phone, but I wonder about all of the advancements in the technology since I got my current phone. And the SJCAM doesn’t quite vibe with me as much as I thought it would. So, I have some thinking to do…
The three sprouts did more growing tonight… hehehe
