The Sprouts
7:00 AM
I haven’t been sleeping the best this year. Yet, I seem to be getting enough rest to function well enough overall. It’s that first hour or so of the day that’s the most difficult. But I’ve shifted my bedtime so that I get up early enough to be ready for work by the time work begins.
I’m going to try a timestamp entry today. Perhaps all week? This is going to be an odd work week. So, this might be a good way to be anchored all week. There are some projects that are getting some extra attention. And there are a lot of meetings on my calendar. I may not even get to go to Zen this week… LOL
Over the weekend, I spun up Claude Code on three projects at the same time. Notesprout, of course. But now I’m working on the paint and Bible apps—Paintsprout and Biblesprout. I’m impressed at how well each of those went over the weekend. And it has helped prepare me for how I can work multiple projects at once for work.
9:45 AM
I forgot I was attempting a timestamp entry today… hehehe
My first meeting of the day was cut short… hehehe
When I die, I’m going to come back and haunt Ayres so I can sit in their office chairs. LOL I love those chairs so much. And I equally hate my chair… LOL Why, oh why, can’t I find a chair that works for me?
One of the newest and greatest features I added to Notesprout is full-page handwriting recognition. And it’s working really well. I think I added it over the weekend. I’m writing this by hand now and will export the text at the end of the day. It’s on-device recognition. It doesn’t offload it to an AI cloud service, so it isn’t perfect. But it works well enough for its intended purpose.
11:30 AM
I’m in the middle of an all-hands meeting. There’s a lot of good info, but I often zone out because most of these things don’t really relate to my work or how I’m motivated to do my work. It’s good for most people, though. I’m just not the typical employee. I’m glad to tune in and try to absorb as much as I can. Of course, I’m not paying attention as I write this timestamp… LOL
12:30 PM
I managed to squeeze in a bite to eat between big meetings. The next one is about to start. “Happy Monday,” right?! HAHAHA. It’s all good. Busy days are good to have from time to time. It’s a good busy… hehehe. The meeting is starting.
1:15 PM
This meeting ended a little early. Here in a moment, I’m going to take a break from the desk since I didn’t get a real lunch break today. I have another meeting about an hour from now. As Mondays go, this has been a pretty good one.
3:20 PM
I have my last meeting of the day coming up, but I’m not sure if it will happen. It typically gets canceled last minute.
I got a new desk light. My previous one was going out. The power plug was always overheating and the LEDs have been flickering. One time last week, it turned itself off because the plug got very hot. Too hot to touch, actually. So, I ordered a new one. This one is much larger and covers both of my desks with light. No more swiveling the light between desks… LOL
4:15 PM
That meeting didn’t happen… hehehe. So, I was able to actually be productive during that time slot… LOL
I’ve been thinking about a new phone. It isn’t a need. It’s a want for sure. I had considered another iPhone. But I’m also considering going back to Android. I’m sure I’ve written about this before, but now it feels closer to a reality. I keep debating with myself about which direction I want to go. For the past two weekends, I’ve almost committed to a decision. I’m much more careful about these things now than in the past. It’s good for me to weigh everything and be slow to decide. When I’m ready, I’ll be confident in my choice. And not getting a new phone at all is also on the table.
7:30 PM
I just got in from a walk. I finished my workday, made and had dinner, did my Bible study session, and felt like being outside. Although it’s hot, even for me, I just had to be outside. I haven’t been walking much lately. I’m not sure I’ve walked much at all this year, actually. It was nice to get fresh air, see the water, and check in on mother duck with her ducklings. Plus a few other birds. I noticed just how dry it is out there. Even though we’ve been getting some rain lately, we are still in a severe drought.
9:25 PM
I’m making significant progress on Notesprout, Paintsprout, and Biblesprout. The sprouts! HAHAHA
Today was a good day. It’s about time to wind down for the evening before I head to bed. I’ve been trying to be done with my day by 10 PM so I can begin shutting down my brain. It’s always tempting to push a little past 10. But when I do, it so often goes to infinity and beyond instead. LOL I’m getting better about logging off by 10 PM lately.
I’m glad I did this timestamp entry. I’m trying to get back to blogging consistently. Plus, I want to write about our May vacation soon. July is starting off well and I’d like to tap into this momentum.
