Our May Vacation 2026 Part 2

Welcome back to the next installment of Our May 2026 Vacation!!! So sorry it has taken so long to get back to this story. It was an amazing vacation. My lack of writing about it is almost shameful…LOL No, not really. But it does feel a little off to have not finished writing about it. Life be lifin’, you know?! LOL

At the end of this entry, I’ll include a link to the tiny bit of vlogging I did that day. I only recorded the first half of the day. Apparently I didn’t do anything after a short clip when we got back to Disneyland Resort after our mid-day break…LOL

I started my day off with a bit of surprise. My phone’s battery was down to the 30s! The night before, I had run out of space for photos and videos. So, I started the process of clearing data. When I went to bed, I did what I always had done…I plugged it in and turned on white noise. At that time, the battery was in the 80s I believe. When I woke up, I was concerned…LOL Not only was I thinking I wouldn’t get any photos or videos that day, I wasn’t sure I’d even been able to use it for my park tickets…LOL That’s probably one of the reasons I didn’t capture much that day. I was thinking the battery might die on me…LOL I reseated the charger and left it on charge until breakfast.

This was our first breakfast together on this vacation. We were so happy to be eating outside. This was the first time we’d had breakfast outside together. So, it was special for that reason. But it was also special because we take communion together at all our breakfasts. The day before, I had purchased our apple juice. So, we were able to enjoy our tradition even though they didn’t provide free apple juice with breakfast.

After breakfast, it was back to our rooms to get all dappered up for the day! And I charged my phone a little longer…LOL I was dressing as Donald Duck and Cherie was Daisy Duck. This was our most exciting dapper attire yet! I tried to shoot some video of my outfit. You’ll see that in my vlog below…hehehe When it was time to go, we met up in the lobby and took the Rex-mobile to Disney!

The drive to Disney was quite different from ALO. I think it was much shorter despite not being all that far from where we normally drive from. Plus there was far less traffic. It felt super quick by comparison. We were also able to see the Crystal Cathedral on that route! That was a first! It’s a beautiful building!

Security was pretty smooth that morning. Of course, we were recognized as Donald and Daisy Duck…hehehe I think we nailed those outfits! And then it was off to ride the first attraction…the tram!!! We started off at Disneyland again this time. I think we plan to always do that from now on…hehehe

I’m grateful for Cherie sharing her experience from our vacations. Especially for this one. For some reason, I didn’t write down that we went to the firehouse…LOL This time, I rang the bell! That was fun! She got some great video from in there. I also didn’t write down that we listened to a band that was playing just outside the firehouse. But you’ll see that in my vlog video later…hehehe

One of the main things we wanted to do today was take it pretty easy. We didn’t rush to anything and hadn’t really planned out specific attractions as must-dos for the day. But there was one thing we did want to do for sure. That was a visit to Toon Town. Especially to get her picture in front of Daisy’s Cafe…hehehe Considering how we were dressed, Toon Town was a must-do for sure…LOL It was fun doing a selfie video at the Toon Town Bank too…hehehe

We did another first this time. We rode the Gadgets Go Coaster right there in Toon Town. That was so much fun! It’s geared towards small children. But it is fun for adults as well. Cherie loved it and said she didn’t know why “childhood Cherie” was so scared of going on it…hehehe But I get it! To a child, any roller coaster is huge! I’m so glad we got to experience that one together.

After that, we meandered around a bit and found ourselves at It’s a Small World once again. That is likely to be a tradition as long as the line isn’t too long. It’s one of our favorite rides and I’m also grateful when we get to ride it. Then we went through Tomorrow Land and back out in front of the castle. I checked the line for Joffrey’s coffee…that was actually the second look of the day…but the line is always too long…LOL

We went to Adventure Land and found out Pirates was down for refurbishment. I was bummed about that because that’s another tradition we both love. But we did get to do our new tradition of the canoes! I am so grateful she enjoys doing that one with me. It isn’t a popular attraction. I think we both love those misfit attractions more than the others…hehehe

After the canoes, we decided to ride Pooh. We hadn’t ridden that one since our November vacation when it was raining…hehehe It was nice that it was dry this time. While we were in line, a very excited young lady wanted to take our picture! She had one of those instant cameras. She gave us the photo and told us to be sure to keep it face down while it developed…hehehe I ended up putting it my bag until after the Pooh ride just to be sure…LOL We’ll cherish that moment and the photo for the rest of our lives.

Next was a snack break on Tom Sawyer’s Island. I don’t think we’d been on that since our first Disney visit in 2024. It was so nice to sit there and talk while we each had our snack bars. Maybe we should make that a tradition…hehehe

Before we left Disneyland, we made our way back through Galaxy’s Edge for a passthrough. And then we added over to DCA for our famous selfie video. We also walked around Pixar Pier before heading back to the tram and concluding the first half of our Disney day. It was time for our mid-day break!

I’m sure I’ll mention this again in the next part, but it was great to keep things at a slower pace and just enjoy all of the moments. I don’t think what I’ve written about the day truly captures that part; which is okay. These entries take us back and remind us of all we did on these vacations. I just wanted to call out that, in between much of it, we simply enjoyed being together.

I’m sure I’ll also be talking about this again, but our Donald and Daisy outfits drew a lot of attention all day long. We never dress up for the attention. But one of the fun things about doing a Disney bound is that it connects with those people whose favorite characters are the ones we are bounding. That will always be a special thing and I’m glad when we do that. Our Donald and Daisy have been the best so far!
