A One Time Donday

Morning

Sometimes it amazes me how one day things can seem to be going well. And then the next day, things seem to be falling apart…LOL Sunday, I was on cloud 9. Yesterday, most of the day was a storm cloud. Today, I reflect on all of this.

I made a post on Bluesky where I “announced” that Monday would now be known as “Donday”, since I was “done” with Monday…LOL I announced that pretty early in the day. And although the day got a little better after that, it was quite a “Monday” Monday…hehehe

Thankfully, my best friend reminded me I was in a club with her. The I-don’t-mind-mondays club. I’m so grateful she called that out. I read that after the day was over. But it was quite impactful to my spirit as I laid my head to rest last night. I replied that I’d be back to the club next week…LOL

Cherie was the star of my day. In one case, quite literally…LOL 🤩 She was the sort of light that God uses to keep me focused on Christ instead of on the “storms” of the day. Things like our Rando Monday short dance videos are a huge help on days like what I was experiencing yesterday. I’m so grateful for the blessings God has given us through our friendship.

The last part of my day was actually pretty good. I spent the last few hours finishing up a project from the weekend. I finally have Notesprout working on my Supernote devices! I’m using it today for my Bible study and work notes. I’m not using it to write this blog entry, though. There are still some things I need to work out to improve the experience on the Supernote devices before I’d want to do a blog entry. But I’m getting close.

Today is going much better so far. My spirit is much lighter. And the struggles of yesterday did not keep me down. I slept well and woke feeling pretty good ❤️ Work has been smoother today and I’ve actually been more productive this morning than I usually am in the morning. I’m still struggling with focus issues. But I’m managing that well today too.

Afternoon

My afternoon has gone pretty well. I was somewhat productive. I’m working on one of those “hurry up” and “wait” tasks…LOL The original “due date” was in mid-May…LOL I kept reaching out every few weeks to get an update on the project. *Crickets* But then my super suggested I put a meeting on everyone’s calendar. I did that and included a note mentioning someone could give me an update en leu of the meeting. Yeah, I finally got the update I needed and canceled the meeting…LOL I ended up needing to schedule another meeting, though. It’s with someone else I didn’t even know was part of this. I reached out to them directly and they asked me to schedule the meeting so we could chat…hehehe I did what I could on it today, made some notes, and now await that meeting tomorrow 🤭

I watched the first half of “The Jungle Book” at lunch today. I’ll finish the other half here in a bit during dinner. I’m enjoying our weekly Disney classic movie day 🤩 I haven’t seen this one in ages! I love the music, the art, the story, and watching it with Cherie ❤️ This is another one of those things that make my heart happy each week. It’s like how I mentioned earlier about Rando Monday. I see it as a reminder of God’s blessings given to us through this friendship.

I’m making tacos for dinner tonight…because…wait for it…IT’S TACO TUESDAY…LOL I think I made tacos twice last week. I’ll be doing it twice again this week. For the tacos this time, I’m going classic taco. I have a set of spices I use for that. And I’ll be using salsa instead of kimchi. But I’ll also be topping it with the ‘kraut…because that’s what we do 🤣 I may throw some bean sprouts on them too 🤭

Last night, I had one of those veggie burgers. I haven’t had those in ages. I decided this was a good week to bring those back…hehehe I did use kimchi and bean sprouts for that. It was sooooo good 😋 Later this week, I plan to do rice with tofu. That’s why I got the bean sprouts, actually. But I decided to put those on everything else too…LOL I had them last week at Zen and couldn’t stop thinking about them 😆

Evening

The tacos turned out well, and I had some of the salsa with my tortilla chips! 😋 I finished the rest of “The Jungle Book.” One of my thoughts while watching these classics is why are today’s Disney movies so complicated?! LOL Yeah, I understand today’s audiences are more complex. Or at least they want “more.” But I definitely prefer these older films over the new stuff most of the time. They are much more entertaining for me. Just personal preference, of course. Also, I did another session of the Bible study right after dinner…hehehe

I’ve been doing more work on Notesprout to optimize it for the Supernote devices tonight. I’m blown away by how well that is going. And I’m so glad to be back on their hardware. The writing experience is so much better than on the BOOX devices…LOL None of this truly feels like pen or pencil on paper. But the Supernote folks truly made an amazing writing experience for a digital device. I’ve been using Notesprout on my Manta all day, and it has been a dream come true 🤩 I didn’t realize how much I missed that 🤭

Perhaps my next blog entry will be handwritten using Notesprout? I was able to fix some of the issues I was having after converting the handwriting to text. The biggest issue was integrating a hardware keyboard with the e-ink devices with Notesprout. But I got that working today 🤩 And at the moment, Claude Code is working on adding spelling and grammar tooling.

You know how I did a featured photo everyday last year? The main reason for that was to work on my photo taking skills. I think that went well and I have a year’s worth of photos that I’ll probably turn into something someday. But I also posted them daily last year. I think I’d like to do something similar soon with my artwork. I’m considering doing some mostly daily drawing practice. If I do that, I am further considering posting whatever I do that day. Having a daily photo last year motivated me. I think posting about the progress I’m making in art might do the same. It’s something Cherie and I have talked about. She was the one who inspired me to see the posts as motivation.

I may do something similar with my writing too. Something else Cherie and I talked about. I wrote a haiku last week that I plan to post soon. I’ve actually published here on the website already. But before that, Cherie is the only one who has seen it. Actually, since she’s the only one who reads my blog, she’s still the only one who will have seen it by the time I publish this entry…LOL I’m so grateful she reads everything I write and watches every video I make. Plus all of the photos and art I do. She’s a true friend and more than I could have ever hoped for 🥹 Thank you, best friend 🤗❤️

Here is the handwritten version of the haiku…I’m in the mist of things right now…hehehe
